Commercial Photography of Sculptures

Recently I have been working for DeMontfort Fine Art who are agents for many fine artists including Rolf Harris and Jack Vettriano.  I was photographing sculptures by Carl Payne and Doug Hyde for the website and brochure.  Huge thanks to Holly Booth for help and assistance during the shoot!  Thanks also to Banks’ Mill Studios resident, and DeMontfort Fine Art client, April Young, for the recommendation that got me the job!  Hopefully this will lead to more work with DeMontfort Fine Art and their talented artists.

Savox UK – Communications Equipment Lifestyle Shoot

When I was contacted by Savox UK about a photo shoot based around their range of communications equipment accessories for uniformed services (police, fire, security, military) I was intrigued.  Savox are based ion Derbyshire but are part of a global network specialising in communications devices for extreme situations.  They supply the headsets and microphones to attach to walkie-talkie devices.  The clever part is that many of these allow the operator hands-free operation and can be virtually invisible in use.

Savox had arranged a full day of shooting with an actor and clothing supplied by Polease, a uniform leasing company who have worked on Casualty, Four Lions, Lewis, Silent Witness and many others.  So it was going to be fun!

Luckily the weather held for the day and over 1000 final images processed they were very happy with the end results.  I can’t show you everything (top secret!) but here a few images from the day.

Another photo in f2 Freelance Photographer Magazine!

Well another month and another mention and photograph in f2 Freelance Photographer magazine!  This time I was interviewed about the photography web hosting service Clikpic, who I have been using for number of years now.  Clikpic are currently using a screenshot of my site in their national advertising campaign in the photography press – so look out for it.

Clikpic feature my website – again

Clikpic, who host my website, have once again chosen to feature a screenshot of my site (as well a quote from me) in their next national advertising campaign.  I have been with Clikpic for a number of years now and in that time I have update the site many times and added in features that are beyond the initial, excellent, templates that they offer.  Their help has been great too; they always get back to me quickly when I have problems or just need some advice about how to make changes. The adverts will be seen in all the national photography magazines – which make me very happy!

Commercial Photography – new web page live!

After some time putting it all together I have finally put live my Commercial Photography page and gallery on my web site.  Over that past couple of years I have photographed a huge range of commercial subjects; many example of which you can now see.  Every commercial project is different and I like to try to bring out something that the client has not seen before.  So if you are in business and want some great new images get in touch!

Warehouse made to look cool

Last week I went along to a local warehouse with Mark Wilde of Pepperhed Creative with the brief being to make a big space full of cardboard boxes look cool!  Outside it was raining heavily when we arrived so the outdoor shots had to wait a while.  Inside I set up studio lights and using long shutter speeds, to catch movement, and HDR post processing to bring out all the detail, I brought a new look to the warehouse.

Outside the rain eased and the droplets on the deep blue vans proved to be a great benefit and the reflections were wonderful!  So it just shows that you that even a warehouse and a van can look good :)

Clikpic using my website to advertise

Today I had an email from my web site hosts, Clikpic, asking if I would mind if they use a screen shot of my website as part of their national advertising campaign in the photography press – I thought about it and said YES!!!  So from October look out for the Clikpic advert in magazines such as Practical Photography, Digital SLR Photography, Outdoor Photographer, Black and White Photography, Digital Photographer, Professional Photographer.  So someone likes my work :)
